Children who are seriously ill need immediate attention from a team trained to handle child emergencies. The pediatric emergency and PICU services focus on quick assessment, stabilisation and close monitoring until the child is out of danger.
Conditions handled
- Breathing difficulty, asthma attacks and pneumonia
- Seizures and altered consciousness
- Severe dehydration and gastroenteritis
- Serious infections and high fever with warning signs
- Poisoning, burns and injuries
- Post-operative and critical care monitoring
When to come
Do not delay if your child struggles to breathe, has a seizure, is unusually drowsy, has bluish lips or seems to be getting worse quickly. Bring the vaccination card and any medicines already given.
